Solar equipment upgrade consultation
An honest assessment of what is worth doing on an aging system. Inverter replacements, added panels, battery storage, and monitoring modernization, weighed against the real condition and remaining life of what you already own.
What we consult on
Four upgrades most aging systems face
Whether your system is eight years old or twenty, the questions tend to be the same. We answer them one at a time.
Inverter replacements
String inverters rarely outlive the panels above them. We assess age, warranty status, and failure history, then lay out replacement options that match your array instead of defaulting to the biggest box.
Adding panels
More panels only make sense if the roof, the interconnection, and the existing equipment can carry them. We check all three before anyone talks about hardware.
Battery additions
Storage is the most requested upgrade in Florida and the easiest to oversell. We confirm what your inverter actually supports, what your goals require, and what is realistic on your equipment.
Monitoring modernization
If your portal died when your installer closed, or your system never had monitoring at all, we scope what it takes to see your production again on equipment you control.
Our promise
Honest answers, even when the answer is keep what you have
Plenty of aging systems have years of good production left. The consultation exists to tell you the truth about yours, not to sell you equipment.
- Recommendations, not a pitch. If the right move is to run your system as it is, we say so.
- We weigh age, warranty status, roof condition, production history, and what your utility allows.
- We service systems we did not install, so no history with AllSolar is required.
- Every upgrade is quoted individually with office review before payment.
How it works
From question to clear recommendation
The same process whether you own solar electric, battery storage, solar pool heating, or solar hot water.
Request a consultation
Tell us what you own, roughly how old it is, and what you are hoping to change. Not knowing the details is normal, especially on an inherited or orphan system.
System review
We review available records, permits, and monitoring data, and visit the site when the question cannot be answered from the desk.
Straight recommendation
You get a plain English writeup of what is worth doing, what is not, and in what order. Sometimes the recommendation is to wait.
Quote and approval
Any upgrade you want to pursue is quoted individually and goes through office review before payment. No work starts until you approve it.
Pricing and members
Quoted individually, with member advantages
Consultations are quoted individually because no two aging systems are alike. AllSolar Cares members save on the upgrades that follow.
5 percent off eligible upgrades
Basic members receive a 5 percent discount on eligible upgrades and additional services.
7 percent off eligible batteries and upgrades
Plus members receive a 7 percent discount on eligible batteries, critter guard, panel cleaning, and upgrades.
$100 annual upgrade credit
Elite members earn a $100 annual upgrade credit after 12 consecutive paid months of membership.
Membership is not insurance and not an equipment warranty. Benefits do not accumulate and unused benefits have no cash value. Parts, permits, engineering, roof repairs, replacement equipment, storm damage, and manufacturer charges are not included unless separately approved.
Questions
Upgrade consultation FAQ
How much does the consultation cost?
Consultations are quoted individually based on your system and the questions you need answered. Our office reviews the quote with you before payment, and nothing is charged until you approve it. If the consultation leads to an upgrade, that work is quoted separately the same way.
My original installer is gone. Can you upgrade a system you did not install?
Yes. Servicing and upgrading systems we did not install is a specialty of ours. Abandoned and orphan systems make up a large share of the consultations we run, and missing paperwork is normal. We reconstruct what we need from permits, monitoring data, and the equipment itself.
Will you tell me if an upgrade is not worth it?
Yes, and it happens often. If your panels have a decade of life left and the inverter is healthy, we will tell you to keep running what you have and what warning signs to watch for. The consultation is an assessment, not a sales appointment.
