What we can do, and where
Three different things, three different footprints. Knowing which one applies to you saves everybody a phone call.
Free Solar Home account
Every Florida homeowner. A free account holding your equipment, warranties, monitoring, documents, appointments, receipts, and service history in one place. Nothing to pay, no membership needed, and it works whoever installed your system.
Remote solar support
Every Florida homeowner. Professional help from our office with monitoring reconnection, account recovery, communication review, manufacturer support, and RMA coordination. It is a separately requested service, not a membership, and never a substitute for someone physically looking at the system.

What is going on?
Each of these opens with useful, specific guidance. You do not need an account to read any of it.
An orphaned system is not a broken system
When an installer shuts down, three things usually break at once: nobody is monitoring the system, nobody holds the paperwork, and the manufacturer warranties look unreachable. None of that means the equipment is bad. Most orphaned systems we see are working, or are one part away from working.
The equipment warranties are usually still live. Panel, inverter, and battery warranties come from the manufacturer, not the installer, and they generally survive the installer going away. What normally does not survive is the installer's workmanship warranty, and the monitoring account, which was often created in the installer's name.
Do this first: find whatever paperwork you still have (the contract, the permit, the interconnection agreement with your utility, any invoice with model numbers on it) and put it somewhere permanent. A free Solar Home account is built exactly for this, and it is the difference between a warranty claim taking a week and taking three months.
If your property is inside our 17 counties, Care Plus and Care Elite include Solar Rescue and we take the system on properly. Anywhere else in Florida, we can help remotely and, when you authorize it, point you at an independent provider.
Producing less, or just reporting less?
These look identical on a phone app and are completely different problems. A system that is producing fine but has lost its internet connection shows the same flat line as a system that has genuinely stopped.
Two safe checks anyone can do. Look at your electric bill: if your usage from the utility has not gone up, the system is very likely still producing and only the reporting is broken. And look at the inverter's own display or status light from the ground, which reports what the equipment itself thinks is happening, independent of any internet connection.
Real seasonal variation is normal: a Florida system produces meaningfully less in December than in May, and a summer of afternoon storms shows up in the numbers. A drop against the same month last year is the comparison worth making.
Getting your own system back on your own screen
Monitoring access goes missing for a small number of reasons, and they have different fixes. The account was created in the installer's name and was never transferred to you. The email address on the account is one you no longer use. The app was replaced by a newer one from the same manufacturer. Or the site was never fully transferred when the system changed hands with the house.
Every one of these is recoverable, and most of them are recoverable for free directly with the manufacturer. Our office does this work all week and can do it for you as a remote support request if you would rather not.
The most common reason monitoring stops
Solar monitoring almost always rides on your home WiFi, and it was configured once, on the day of installation, with the network name and password that existed then. Change any of that and the system keeps producing power perfectly while quietly going silent online.
It happens after a new internet provider, a router replacement, a WiFi name or password change, a modem swap, a long outage, or a monitoring gateway being replaced. If your production graph went flat on roughly the same day something changed with your internet, that is almost certainly what happened.
Reconnection is usually a settings change on the monitoring device, not a repair. It is one of the most common things we handle remotely, statewide.
Ownership, not just a password
The frustrating version of this is when the password reset works fine and the account still is not yours: you can log in, and the system is not listed. That means the monitoring site is still owned by whoever installed it, and what you need is a transfer of ownership rather than a login fix.
Manufacturers have a documented process for this. It generally needs proof that you own the property and the system, the site name or system ID, and sometimes the original installer's account details. We can run that process for you, add you as the system owner, and separately authorize AllSolar to see the system if you want us watching it.
Getting a case opened, and getting it answered
Manufacturer support is generally free and generally slow, and it moves much faster when the first message contains everything they are going to ask for anyway: model and serial numbers, the installation date, what the system is doing now, clear photographs of the equipment and any error display, and the exact error text or code.
We can open the case, gather that information with you, follow the manufacturer's troubleshooting steps, translate the response into plain English, and track the case number so it does not go quiet. What we cannot do is decide the outcome.
When a part has to be replaced under warranty
An RMA is the manufacturer's return and replacement process, and it stalls for boring reasons: a missing serial number, no proof of purchase, photographs that do not show what they need to see, or a request sent to the wrong department. We work out what that manufacturer requires, open or continue the RMA, organize the documentation, keep in contact, and track approval and shipment.
We also record the whole thing in your Solar Home so the next person who touches the system can see what happened, and we can help you find somebody to fit the replacement when it arrives.
The same limit applies. RMA approval, warranty coverage, replacement equipment, shipping, labor, and reimbursement are controlled by the manufacturer and are not guaranteed by AllSolar.
Panels off, roof done, panels back on
This is called a removal and reset, and the sequence matters: the solar has to come off before the roofers start and go back on after they finish, and both halves are electrical work on your roof. Getting the two trades scheduled against each other is most of the difficulty.
Inside our 17 counties we do this ourselves. Outside them, this is exactly the kind of job that needs a licensed local provider, and you should ask any provider you are considering whether they carry both the electrical and the solar licensing to do the reset, not just the removal.
Removal and reset work is not included in any AllSolar Cares membership and is always separately quoted and approved.
When somebody has to physically come out
Some things cannot be established from a screen: whether a connector is burnt, whether a panel is cracked, whether a roof penetration is leaking, whether a breaker has tripped for a reason. If we get to that point remotely we will say so plainly rather than keep going.
Outside our 17 counties we can pass your request to an independent service provider when you authorize us to. That provider is a separate business: they control their own availability, pricing, scope, scheduling, warranties, and service terms, and AllSolar Cares benefits do not apply to their work.
That is a perfectly good place to start
Most people arrive here knowing only that something is off. Tell us what you have noticed in your own words, and our office will work out which of the paths above you are actually on. There is no charge for asking, and we will tell you when the answer is "this is free, go directly to your manufacturer".
What a remote review can and cannot tell you
A remote communication review is not a physical diagnosis, and we will never describe it as one.
What we can usually determine remotely
- Whether the system is producing but not reporting
- Whether a monitoring gateway is offline
- Whether the inverter has internet communication
- Whether cellular monitoring has expired
- Whether the manufacturer's portal is simply delayed
- Whether a monitoring site transfer was left incomplete
- What the error codes and alerts on record actually mean
- Whether an onsite visit is probably required
What no remote review can determine
- The physical condition of panels, wiring, or connectors
- Whether a roof penetration is leaking
- Whether equipment is damaged, corroded, or overheating
- Anything requiring a meter on the equipment
- Whether the installation meets current code
- Anything that needs a licensed contractor physically present
Free portal visibility is not paid human monitoring. Automated system status is not a professional inspection. Remote support is not onsite service. Solar Home is not AllSolar Cares.
