Battery storage diagnostics and service
Fault lights, error codes, a battery that never seems to charge, or a system nobody supports anymore. We assess it honestly and quote any work before you pay for anything.
What we can look at
Battery storage is the newest of the four system categories we service, and often the one homeowners are left holding when an installer disappears.
Battery diagnostics
Charging and discharging behavior, capacity concerns, communication with the inverter, and overall system health.
Error assessment
We decode the fault and error codes on your battery, inverter, or app and explain what they mean for your system in plain language.
Firmware and configuration review
Operating mode, backup settings, firmware level, and utility configuration reviewed against how your system should actually run.
Compatibility review for additions
Thinking about adding storage to an existing solar electric system? We review equipment compatibility before you spend anything.
Reviewed first, quoted always
Batteries vary widely in age, brand, and support status. Our process is built so you never pay for a visit that cannot help.
Membership is not insurance and not an equipment warranty. Benefits do not accumulate and unused benefits have no cash value. Parts, permits, engineering, replacement equipment, and manufacturer charges are not included unless separately approved.
Four steps, no blind visits
Tell us about the battery
Make and model, what it is doing, any codes you can see, and who installed it. Photos of the label help.
Office review
We check support status, parts availability, and serviceability before anything is scheduled or billed.
Assessment visit
Diagnostics, error assessment, and a firmware and configuration review, with findings documented in writing.
Quoted work, your call
Any repair, reconfiguration, or addition is quoted first. Nothing proceeds without your approval.
Battery service questions
Can you service a battery you did not install?
In many cases, yes. We service systems we did not install across all four categories we work on: solar electric, battery storage, solar pool heating, and solar hot water. Because battery support varies so much by brand, complex or unsupported systems get an office review first so we can tell you honestly whether a visit will help.
Can you add a battery to my existing solar system?
Often, yes, and it starts with a compatibility review. Not every battery works with every inverter, and the right answer depends on your equipment and your goals. Additions are quoted after review and approved by you before anything moves forward. Plus and Elite members receive 7 percent on eligible batteries.
My battery brand went out of business. Is it a lost cause?
Not automatically. Some orphaned batteries can be serviced or reconfigured and some cannot. That is exactly why unsupported systems get an office review before payment. We would rather tell you the truth up front than charge you a visit to hear it.
